Which leads into the day's topic: Winning the war against cancer.

That's the rally cry isn't it? Funding the research to win the war - that's what it's all about isn't it? I've walked for the cure. Energetic others have run, rowed, biked. We admired those that shave their heads. Applauded those that raise huge pledge amounts. All to pour those millions upon millions into cancer research. All to win the war!

Then why is cancer on the rise? Epidemic actually in the young or old or male or female or rich or poor. Why is the man, woman or child diagnosed with cancer and their families still in such crisis? Why are the survival statistics still so grim?

Why are the medical treatments STILL so horrendous?

Do you know that cancer is a multi-billion dollar business? That preventing cancer would be bad for business? That the pharmaceutical industries have intricate ties to the policy makers, directing research funds to insure their continued profits in cancer diagnosis/treatment.

Winning the war on cancer means preventing cancer.

Stop cancer before it starts.

But wait a minute, you and I already have cancer. Now what do we do?

Here's an analogy that one of the health practitioners it's been my honour to meet gave me. Imagine a tub overflowing. What a mess - water everywhere. What can you do?

Well, the first thing you need to do is STOP putting more water in - clean up the mess - and start to bail.

That tub is your body in cancer crisis. Overflowing with toxins, so STOP put them in. Clean up your body - detoxify.

How old are you? It's taken exactly that long for your tub to overflow. You cannot expect to clean up the mess instantly. It'll take time. Imagine that all you have is a teaspoon to bail with. Well, OK, if you are really motivated you can have a soup spoon. But listen, don't be discouraged. You do have the rest of your life.
